JW Cross Border Ltd is the international consulting vehicle of Joseph Weinrauch, an Israeli Attorney-at-Law born in Munich, admitted to the Israel Bar in 1987, and running his independent practice since 2006 — paperless from day one.
Joseph has spent his career solving the problem no single-jurisdiction lawyer can: when your client's matter crosses a border, most lawyers stop. Joseph does not. He coordinates, prepares, and directs — in the language of the jurisdiction, with the procedural knowledge to back it.
He has handled legal proceedings in Colorado, New York, Los Angeles, Italy, Belgium, Canada, Egypt, the UK, Scotland, Germany, Austria, Cyprus and more — all coordinated from Israel, working alongside locally licensed counsel.
“Work to the outside. No internal bla bla. People pay for creativity, experience, and foresight — not copy-paste.”
“We don’t do referrals. We don’t do ‘fire and forget.’ We manage the case in coordination with our dear colleagues from other jurisdictions.”
“I will do the extra mile — seek witnesses, documents, experts — everything needed to present a client’s case in front of a foreign judge.”— Joseph Weinrauch
Every case below involved two legal systems, two sets of rules, and lawyers from two countries working as one team. Names and identifying details are omitted.
An Italian company had obtained a court judgment against an Israeli counterpart for a commercial debt. Working with Italian counsel, we initiated enforcement proceedings in an Israeli district court under the Foreign Judgments Enforcement Law. The Israeli court recognised the judgment and ordered enforcement. The creditor collected.
An Israeli individual passed away leaving significant digital assets held by a technology company incorporated in the United Kingdom. We coordinated both sides: obtaining the Israeli probate order, then instructing English counsel to present the order to the British company and compel access. The estate was recovered.
An American lawyer approached us on behalf of a US client involved in a real estate dispute in Israel. We identified a clear violation of the Israeli duty of good faith against our client. The American lawyer had not seen it; Israeli law is not American law. We built the argument, instructed on strategy, and the case was repositioned to the client's advantage.
An Israeli investor placed capital with a Canadian counterpart. Returns were not paid. We initiated power of sale proceedings against collateral, and filed a monetary claim in Ontario courts — enforcing it within the province. The team: Israeli lead counsel coordinating two Canadian lawyers, each handling their part of the file.
A creditor held a debt that could not be collected — the real owner was concealed behind a corporate structure. We filed 14 separate orders in Israeli court, compelling disclosure from banks, registries, and third parties. Thirty-seven pieces of evidence were gathered. The true owner was identified, the claim was redirected, and enforcement proceeded.
A German court was conducting criminal proceedings in which a key witness was held in high-security custody in Israel. The German court appointed an Israeli lawyer to attend together with the German Defense Lawyer evidence-collection proceedings conducted on Israeli soil, within the Israeli custody facility, under coordination between both legal systems. We ensured the evidence gathered met the admissibility standards of the German criminal proceedings.
Every cross-border matter is built as a litigation architect would: evidentiary chronology, argument hierarchy, document strategy — all before foreign counsel is formally instructed. Local counsel receives a package to file, not a problem to solve.
Documents produced in the procedural language and format of the receiving authority — whether a court in Austria, a notary in Luxembourg, or a school board in Italy. Four working languages: Hebrew, English, German, French.
We identify the strongest and weakest arguments before a client commits. We flag missing information rather than filling gaps with assumption. Honest assessment — not false certainty.
Beyond client work, Joseph has spent many years sharing knowledge on Israeli law and taught a cross-border methodology to hundreds of lawyers across the globe — through webinars, in-person presentations, published interviews, and recurring case-study series.
From 2018 as a founding member of a professional network, then from 2020 as a founding member, board member, and ultimately Managing Partner of its successor network, Joseph built and managed cross-border legal collaboration at an operational level across 75 countries.
This is not a directory of foreign contacts. It is an environment of colleagues known personally through in-person congresses on four continents, joint presentations, knowledge-sharing webinars, and years of coordinating real cross-border mandates together.
All these activities created connections to 660+ lawyers across 75 countries and 60 languages — with Joseph holding leadership responsibilities and building the governance of such a unique solution to complex problems and challenges.
